US History 10B Week 3
It was really interesting to see that in the great depression there were many Hitler-like leaders who rose to power. I had never heard of Japan’s atrocities, and I now understand why most of the world remains bitter towards them.
I had never thought of non-white soldiers fighting in the world wars, so it was interesting to learn that mexican, asian, and african-americans also fought. It’s surprising that segregation in the military was so profound considering that the veterans from WW1 seemed a bit more supportive of racial equality from having to work with eachother.
Women seem to be gaining a bit of respect in this era, which I love! In the warship factories, women proved that they can work as well and even faster than men ever had, which must have been a huge accomplishment for females everywhere. Seeing the rise of women is really cool!
