US History 10B Week 15
I really thought that civil rights was peaceful. I was so shocked to hear about government opression and violence this week. That goes against everything I was taught, ever! This class is really opening up my eyes to how ignorant people are and how being quiet is exactly what the government wants you to do.
The fact that schools are more segregated today seems absurd. I understand that segregation means seperation by race, but schools aren’t purposefully doing it! They don’t deny students because of their race on an every-day basis! Maybe the minorities live together and therefore go to the same school, but no schools are purely Mexican or Aisian or Black or White or Muslim or lutheran or Native American, except for some all-black college that’s super weird. But still, Segregation is purposeful seperation, Today it’s just money. If we all had the same amount of money, our schools would be sooooo much more diverse.
